The Law Office of Brian L. Oaks is seeking a legal assistant. The legal assistant will perform basic administrative and customer service tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, greeting & seating clients, and keeping track of appointments. The assistant will also send out letters, take in paperwork, take payments, assist in the filing of the cases, make copies of client documents, and perform all other duties assigned by the attorney. The person in this position must exhibit professionalism and maintain confidentiality. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Required Skills and Specifications

• Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be good with people.
• Must exhibit good computer/technical skills.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must be extremely organized and able to multi-task.
• Must be a team player.
• Must provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to pass Indiana Notary exam and acquire necessary bond.

Preferred Skills and Specifications

• Preferred experience with collections, evictions, and estate planning.

Education & Work Experience

• High School Diploma required. Past office experience required.
• Hours: 40 hours/week: Monday- Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, with an hour lunch
• Experience: Legal Assistant: 1 year (Preferred, not required)
• Education: High school or equivalent (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
