Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys in handling family law cases. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal administrative skills and a passion for family law.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and domestic violence matters
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Prepare and organize case files and maintain accurate records
- Interview clients to gather relevant information for their cases
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness statements
- Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case
- Attend court hearings and assist attorneys during trials
- Stay up-to-date with changes in family law regulations and procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a paralegal in family law
- Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures
- Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with case management software is a plus
