Energy Dispatcher jobs in Bangor, ME

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours per week 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday) Dispatcher to work in its Transportation Brokerage office based out of our Bangor office. This position is primarily remote with once monthly in office rotation.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Dispatcher Responsibilities:

• Assign and coordinate daily transportation for MaineCare eligible and Penquis LYNX clients.
• Respond to same day and urgent requests for services as required.
• Generate all computer reports necessary to provide transportation and maintain those reports in their entirety.
• Make appropriate decisions in a timely manner, resolving all problems relevant to transportation provided by volunteers, vans, and other modes of transportation.
• Perform intake activities as needed.
• Interact professionally and appropriately with drivers, clients, to arrange transportation, overnight lodging, and out of state travel, as appropriate
• Crosstrain in the call-center with service recipients, assisting and accommodating the needs of clients and medical providers; assigning and interacting with paid and volunteer drivers; and collecting and documenting information including intake activities, referrals, certifications, verifications, filing, and authorizing.

Dispatcher Requirements:

• High school diploma and 2-3 years of work experience, including two years of office work involving customer service, customer information intake, and computer data entry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience.
• Remain calm and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to and pass random drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
• Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $17.07 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
