    Position Summary:
    Under the direction of the Director of Belonging and Engagement and Stevenson Union and working collaboratively with campus partners like the Dean of Students, University Housing, the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Admissions, Disability Resources, TRIO, and Pre-College Youth Programs. The Belonging and Engagement Coordinator directly supports and advocates for students as they navigate the University experience and build meaningful connection and engagement in our community. They are responsible to creatively develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate engagement, student leadership, diversity initiatives, programming, and workshops; which enhance the overall student experience and support the overall educational mission of Student Life and the University as a whole. They are knowledgeable of the challenges facing students from historically underrepresented, minoritized, and under-resourced student populations (inclusive of all forms and intersections of identity, such as race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, national origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, ability, age, size, socio economic status, Veteran status, etc.). The position will also develop and implement integrated programming to advance diversity and intercultural awareness, support to underrepresented student populations as well as increase diversity awareness and world citizenry. The Coordinator will also work with campus and community partners with opportunities relevant to the services the Office of Belonging and Engagement offers when possible.The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops/trainings for students on a wide range of topics around issues of belonging, engagement, inclusion, equity, access, leadership, and social change. Experience managing a programmatic budget including the preparation of budget reports related to on-going initiatives as needed. Has a demonstrated ability to advise and support student organizations. Develops learning outcomes and assessment tools for training, events, programs, and workshops. Able to review data for constructive improvements of programs and services. Serves as a resource for the Student Club ManagementThis position is part of a team that is responsible for the planning and implementing Week of Welcome, new student orientation, sustainability, Veterans and Family programming, the Food Pantry, and Student Life programming related to belonging and engagement. This involves providing ongoing advising and support services to student clubs with training, budgeting oversight, consulting on diversity issues/topics, and allocations, funding, and spending. Works with student leaders to design and implement programs, special events, and services that support student success and development. Assists students with problem solving a variety of complex issues during all phases of an event.Additionally, this position supervises and oversees student staff members, assists in the management and training of student employees to ensure services, programming, and activities from the Office of Belonging and Engagement to foster and promote student engagement, success, persistence, and retention. Participates in performance evaluations and corrective action for student staff. Processes personnel paperwork for assigned employees. Provides oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operation of the Social Justice and Equity Center, and the Office of Student Belonging and Engagement.Serves as a liaison in providing information on available resources and services. Participates in a variety of meetings, committees, or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity and other pertinent information related to equity. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelors Degree in a related field and two years of direct service experience either in a college setting or community agency.
    Experience working with underrepresented populations (first-generation, low-income, students of color, LGBTQ , Veterans and Military Families, etc.).
    Strong organizational, training, and communication skills. and history of implementing successful strategies and programs.
    Ability to work flexible hours.

    Preferred Qualification :
    Masters Degree in student development, higher education, multicultural studies, social justice, social work, or related field.
    Experience working with faculty and community partners.
    Demonstrated experience impacting social and racial justice initiatives.Demonstrated experience working with multicultural or equity/diversity programs. Demonstrated ability to secure external funding support for educational programs.
    Experience supervising a diverse student staff.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Contemporary knowledge of student development theories, principles, practices, and human development theories.
    Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner (through written, oral, social media, etc.).
    Ability to work with a high level of productivity and accuracy/attention to detail.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere in and outside the University with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
    Ability to adapt to and work effectively in a heavily bureaucratic environment which requires regular interaction with a number of levels within the organization.
    Working knowledge, or ability to quickly learn, university infrastructure, policies and procedures.
    Demonstrated experience using multiple forms of electronic communication.
    Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing technological environment
    Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing time demands.
    General ability to use common computer software/ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, as well as proficiency with information technology, websites and social media.
    Demonstrated ability to work with diverse audiences and to build community around culturally relevant programming.
    A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
    The ability to make independent judgments, work autonomously, and demonstrate initiative.

    Special Conditions
    Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
