The academic coach will work individually and with groups of students to promote academic excellence and goal persistence. 

Essential Functions:
The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.

• Serve as an academic coach for up to 90 TRIO students; meet regularly with participants to coach them toward meeting their academic goals.
• Coordinate recruitment and orientation of TRIO students.
• Supervise the TRIO marketing intern and social committee intern.
• Assist with all TRIO programming.
• Help coordinate graduate school visits and cultural trips for TRIO participants.
• Collect and record data necessary for evaluation of the TRIO Program.
• Partner with other campus entities such as the Center for Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Student Financial Services, and the Office of Admission to assist in retention and graduation of underrepresented students.
• Teach a section of First Year Foundations, a one-credit academic success strategies course for first year students in the TRIO program.
• Collaborate on TRIO outreaching efforts including mailing campaigns and other communication efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Master degree required in college student personnel, student affairs, counseling, psychology, or education
• 1-3 years of experience in post-secondary education in counseling, student affairs, or academic affairs strongly preferred
• Ability to work effectively with faculty, campus officers, staff, community agencies, high schools, and students from diverse backgrounds
• Previous experience with TRIO SSS programs preferred, but not required
• Persons from backgrounds similar to the target populations of the TRIO SS programs are encouraged to apply
