Summary:
As a Construction Observer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our construction projects. Working closely with our team of construction managers, engineers, project managers, and contractors, you will monitor construction activities, report on progress, and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies, defects, or non-compliant work to the Construction Manager or Project Engineer for corrective action.
- Assist with the review of construction plans and specifications to familiarize yourself with project requirements.
- Conduct basic field tests and inspections as directed by senior staff.
- Maintain detailed records of observations, work performed, and progress reports.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address and resolve issues.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction progress and issues.
- Assist with the final inspection of the project to ensure all work is completed satisfactorily before final acceptance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Prior internship or work experience in construction or engineering is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- Must be safety oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have good manual dexterity and vision.
Work Environment:
- The role involves both office duties and extensive fieldwork.
- Fieldwork may be conducted in various weather conditions and environments.
- Frequent travel to different project sites is required.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $72,800.00 per year
