JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Engineering's primary objective is to plan, organize, lead and control product engineering activities. This person is responsible for managing the Engineering team in new product development and continuous improvement of existing product design of custom road construction machinery.
MAJOR DUTIES:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required (MBA preferred) with 7 years’ experience in progress Engineering roles in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge and experience of engineering principles and practices, product design and development, and management skills are a must. Proficiency in the use of state-of-the-art engineering tools and techniques, including computer-aided design and personal computer applications is essential (SolidWorks a plus). Good written and verbal skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also needed. Thorough working knowledge of legal landscape as it relates to product engineering regulations, safety standards and patents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have ability to effectively access all work areas in a multi-plant setting. Must have sufficient agility to observe all processes and product features including confined spaces and unusual accesses.
