Enrollment & Billing Director oversees one or more departments responsible for enrollment and billing operations for an insurance company. Ensures information accuracy and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to accurately assign appropriate codes for billing purposes.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, such as ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or incomplete documentation necessary for accurate coding.
- Verify and enter coded data into billing software or electronic health record systems.
- Investigate and resolve coding discrepancies or errors to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations to maintain proficiency in medical coding practices.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in medical billing or related field preferred.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in medical coding, specifically in areas such as outpatient services, physician office visits, or hospital coding.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and billing software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
