Overview

The Enrollment Specialist (ERS) performs various duties as a member of the health team providing screening, application, and enrollment activities. The ERS also assists with administrative tasks to support the health center. The position reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

• Enrolls and registers all new patients and re-enrolls established patients.
• Registers patient clinical, financial, and demographic information into computer system accurately and completely.
• Assigns sliding fee scale and financial assistance and enrolls qualified patients for insurance.
• Requests and verifies all demographic information as well as insurance.
• Collaborates with internal and external social services agencies to meet patients' needs.
• Files and scans documents in order to maintain complete records regarding patients and office operations.
• Prepares and processes appropriate forms as requested and required.
• Collaborates with finance team on reviewing sliding fee scale and insurance patient's cases post enrollment.
• Stays up to date on regulatory and protocol changes; updates and creates documents and manuals, and briefs administrative team on updates to maintain compliance throughout the agency.
• Demonstrates professional, courteous, and respectful attitude during interactions with patients and guests of the health center.
• Assists in distributing surveys and assessments to all new and re-established patient.
• Completes reports and analyzes data for enrolled and registered patients from Medical, Dental, Mental Health, and Stamford CARES.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bi-lingual Spanish required
• Demonstrated computer skills including typing
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and to deal calmly with individuals under stress
