Billing Representative Job Description
Verify insurance eligibility for scheduled appointments.
Provide pricing to self-pay patients.
Submit and receive claims electronically on a daily basis.
Post insurance and patient payments to appropriate claims on a daily basis.
Answer patient inquiries regarding their account balances.
Process payments on behalf of patients.
Provide estimates and collect deposits for services such as allergy testing, surgery, etc.
Verify benefits and coverage for services.
Resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
Collect outstanding accounts receivables and, when applicable, send patients to third party collection agency.
Work claims denied according to contracted agreements to ensure appropriate payment for services.
Correct rejected and invalid claims to resubmit to insurance company.
Maintain confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
