Hourly Rate: $18-$22/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-2pm (Eastern Standard Time Zone)

Spark Dental Management, the region's leading provider of pediatric and orthodontic dental care, has a full-time career opportunity available for a Billing Representative!

As a Billing Representative, you'll play a pivotal role in managing accounts receivable for both Commercial and Managed Care accounts. Drawing on your experience in dental and orthodontic settings, you'll meticulously follow up on claims from initial billing through to resolution, ensuring accuracy and timeliness every step of the way. Your responsibilities will include diligent follow-up on unpaid claims, meeting defined aging criteria, and exceeding collection targets to minimize write-offs.

What You Will Do:

• Posts all insurance EFTs with accuracy
• Review insurance EOBs and places a copy in the patient account
• Make accurate account adjustments
• Mail statements
• Follow up with past due accounts, including account audits
• Follows scripting for collection calls
• Submit refund requests
• Keep AR within the company set percentages
• Records batch totals with date and initials on payment receipt spreadsheet
• Balances batches and runs transaction reports
• Ensures accuracy of all patient data

What You Will Need:

• Physically located in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working with healthcare A/R
• Technical School/Associate's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of dental or medical billing/collections/insurance terminology preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounts receivable and accounting principles
• Understanding of the revenue cycle and how the various components work together preferred
• Computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to recognize roadblocks that may be causing slower reimbursement and work with management team to create solutions
• Service-oriented/customer-centric
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
