  • Job Description

    Supervises the direct services billing process for in-home and case management services, including management of the WellSky software utilization and compliance with program regulations for billing services, maintains accounts receivable invoices and payments and obtains Medicaid authorizations through the online portal.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administer the direct services billing, including supervision of the billing and accounts receivable functions. Manages uncollectible write-offs and Medicaid adjustments. Works to resolve escalated billing problems. Monitors billing process for accuracy and timeliness. Responsible for generating accounts receivable for billed services.
    • Monitor caregiver schedules for shifts not assigned to the proper authorization.
    • Submit required forms through the online portal to obtain authorization of Medicaid Personal Care services for in-home clients.
    • Enter new clients and the plan of care for in-home services into the WellSky software in a timely manner ensuring that information is secure, accessible, and accurate for billing purposes to minimize denied billing.
    • Clear claim exceptions and confirm cleared claims in Authenticare for Medicaid billing.
    • Post payments in the WellSky software for each client and claim. Reconcile the payments with billing to maintain an accurate accounts receivable for each payer. Responsible for resolving payment discrepancies and process denied billing. Responsible for notifying supervisor when denials are received.
    • Collects, verifies, and processes private pay and Medicaid billing for the Personal Emergency Response Systems.
    • Enters private pay and third-party insurance billing in the WellSky software and responsible for mailing billings each month and responding to related inquiries.
    • Enter service billing data for Targeted Case Management and submit claims to Medicaid. Work with Purchased Services Assistant to submit Home Delivered Meals billing to Medicaid. Reconcile denied claims.
    • Responsible for the training and utilization of the WellSky billing software and other applicable software such as Excel. Attend User’s Group meetings and participate in meetings with WellSky staff during each development and implementation activities. Responsible for the resolution of data errors and WellSky software issues. Assist in implementing and maintaining billing system to incorporate Medicaid changes.
    • Analyze data and prepare reports and reconciliations.
    • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    Basic Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Broad knowledge of such fields as advanced accounting, finance, marketing, business administration, etc. Equivalent to four years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

    Advanced: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contract Management, Excel Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

    Intermediate: Database, Web Based Programs

    Basic: Other, Payroll Systems
