Enterprise Infrastructure Director manages and coordinates the information systems that will adequately support the organization's enterprise infrastructure. Monitors and manages all IT infrastructure projects to meet company and client needs. Being an Enterprise Infrastructure Director determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs, ensuring the scalability of infrastructure design to handle expected growth. Implements policies and procedures to maintain, enhance, and secure an organization's technology infrastructure. Additionally, Enterprise Infrastructure Director is responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance. May assist in network interface planning, hardware resource availability, and the development of new applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Enterprise Infrastructure Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     PURPOSE:

    Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications, the incumbent is responsible for the Design and Development, Documentation (Technical Specifications), Q/A Plan and Testing, Unit Testing for Information Technology (IT). This includes working independently on assigned tasks in close collaboration with other members of the IT team to address the specific needs of the University.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Function in a team to implement new features in existing systems, and build new applications and services by designing and developing customer-based solutions and products utilizing enterprise development tools.
    • Work with IT Team and various departments capturing and documenting department requirements for large and small projects, in order to design appropriate solutions. Provides recommendations for process and application improvements utilizing best practices for organization staff and data management. Communicates effectively via meetings and presentations.
    • Perform unit and integration testing and assist with end user testing.
    • Works as system administrator consulting with various technical teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues with existing applications and development.
    • Collaborates with IT and cross-functional/technical teams in requirements gathering, planning, coordination and implementation of new campus systems and projects.

    Other Functions:
    • May direct the tasks of student assistant(s).
    • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of: Enterprise systems, applications, and technical standards; Linux/UNIX operating systems, database productivity tools including Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, and SQL*Loader; data administration principles and data modeling concepts; technical and vendor documentation and ability to maintain internal documentation; system development life cycle and structured systems development concepts; system capability, design restrictions, and security requirements; client/server technologies, network connectivity, integration, configuration, and protocols.

    Ability to: Apply consultative skills to assess user needs and communicate technology systems and solutions; maintain databases and middleware applications through performance tuning and applying patches/fixes/upgrades; develop program implementation plans, install software, and apply fixes; identify hardware/software interface problems; perform interactive debugging and to test and analyze program failures; use systems workflow and logic flowchart techniques; use project management tools.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A basic foundation of knowledge and skills in database management, applications packages and programming, systems analysis and related programming support functions is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience. Working knowledge of industry standard applications programming languages and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.

    SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
    • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft tools, technology and architecture. Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL and Data Mover.
    • Experience with deploying/customizing 3rd party add-ons and managed packages
    • Experience with custom integrations using APIs
    • Project management skills and experience driving programs independently
    • Experience with custom integrations using APIs
    • Experience with database design, SQL

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, in addition to the required experience.
    • Ability to write simple documentation on requirements discovery and solution design
    • Familiarity with industry-standard: Software and Systems Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and project management frameworks such as agile/scrum and waterfall.
    • Familiarity with industry-standard: IT Service Management (ITSM) for service areas such as incident, problem, change, communication, configuration, and release management.
    • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript ES6, JSON, REST, XML, Bash.
    • Experience with NodeJS and NPM.
    • Knowledge of managing packages and dependencies for web applications.
    • Experience using GitHub Version Control systems.
