Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firmwide risk management activities, inclusive of Operational Risk Management, Vendor Risk Management, and Model Risk Management. The successful candidate shall support leadership in identifying and managing risks as well as building, supporting, and executing the enterprise risk management function.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and execution of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) framework and direct efforts to create a comprehensive, integrated view of risks across the organization.
- Facilitate the complete life cycle of the Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) process with a focus on integrating risk management techniques into the Bank’s strategy, budgeting, and operational processes.
- Designing and implementing a robust risk management program including identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting on risks across all risk stripes.
- Managing the Operational Risk Framework (RCSAs, RAS, KRIs, Operational Event/Incident Management).
- Execution and oversight of the Vendor Risk Management Program (vendor onboarding, criticality and risk ratings, initial and ongoing due diligence, and vendor termination).
- Oversight of the Model Risk Management program including but not limited to, managing model inventory, model risk rating, and on-going monitoring.
- Conduct governance activities such as reviewing risk assessments, issues, and corrective action plans providing effective challenge to the business heads.
- Share thematic information for all risk programs to improve risk management efforts across the Bank.
- Assist with governance committee and Board reporting.
- Policy administration to ensure that the policies are updated and approved timely and appropriately.
- Promote risk awareness across the Bank and act as an independent, trusted advisor to the First Line of Defense on risk matters.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives that enhance risk and control activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Required Skills & Education
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related equivalent experience.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years of experience in banking, financial services, risk management, audit, or a related role.
- Thorough understanding of the COSO framework
- Knowledge of bank products, processes, and market practices utilized by large banks preferred.
- Strong collaborative and organizational skills to with ability to partner across functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in operational processes.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior and follow the Code of Conduct, including the maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, including the ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to work in various platforms.

Physical Requirements
This position requires standing, walking, bending, and squatting on a regular basis. May require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach with hands and arms. Requires the ability to carry, lift, move or push up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to talk and listen to others.
Work Environment
This position regularly works in an office setting. Most of the job duties require the employee to be working with computers and electronic media on a regular basis.
