  • New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc.
  • Enterprise, PA FULL_TIME
  • New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. (NESL) is seeking a motivated, hardworking, humble, self-starter to fill the role of Successor to a retiring Business Support Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to step into a well-established role within the organization and build upon the legacy of the outgoing coworker. The candidate will work for a period of 12-18 months under the direction of the current Business Support Manager, with the intended opportunity to assume the role upon the incumbent’s retirement. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of skills, experience, and a willingness to learn in order to seamlessly transition into the position and continue driving success.

IT Business Support Manager Successor - What Will You Do?

Responsibilities during the Training and Transition Period:

    • Knowledge Transfer: Work closely with the retiring coworker to understand the intricacies of the role, learn about key processes, and gain insights into best practices.
    • Shadowing and Training: Shadow the retiring team member in day-to-day tasks, attend meetings, and participate in training sessions to acquire hands-on experience and deepen understanding.
    • Documentation: Create detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and workflows to ensure a smooth transition and provide a reference for future operations.
    • Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations.  This will require travel/visits to sites throughout the enterprise to interact directly with stakeholders and observe their day-to-day operations.
    • Cultural Acclimation: Learn The NESL Way. Understand how The NESL Way guides the way we work and interact, and plan for how to eventually incorporate The NESL Way in the role of Business Support Manager.
    • Continued Learning: Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to remain competitive and drive innovation in the role.

About the Business Support Manager Role:

Once fully transitioned to the Business Support Manager Role, the successful candidate will lead a small team of Business and Technical Analysts that provides technical consulting and support to NESL’s Materials and Construction business units. The Business Support Manager role generates value through three primary focus areas:

    • Technology evangelist: A thought leader working in partnership with the IT PMO and key business users to select systems and technology to support their strategic business objectives. • Staff development: A manager that values the ongoing professional development of team members. This individual will have a love of learning and will coach the team to adopt and internalize best practices, continuous improvement, introspection, and personal growth.
    • Business process analysis and improvement: This role requires someone with a strong process and consulting background. While the successful candidate will be expected to learn the subject matter and current systems in use by the business units they support, the greater need is for someone that can create a team of internal consultants. The focus of the Business Analyst (BA) component of the Business Support function is leading a process of discovery, analysis, definition, and implementation for projects to improve the operational capabilities of the company.
    • Location and Schedule: This position is assigned to the NESL Corporate office located in New Enterprise, PA. The leader that fills this role will be expected to work in the office 3-4 days per week. Travel to other area offices and operations locations to learn and understand business processes or provide training and system go-live support, will be required from time to time.
