An industry leading provider of continuous emissions monitoring systems is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to join their team. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer: Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical). Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. The work of the EH&S Engineer who is an Industrial Hygienist involves industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities. Interacts with others in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions. Monitors industrial health compliance.
Job Description:
Position requires multi-tasking with frequent interruptions, intelligent detailed oriented person that documents and communicates exceptionally well both verbally and in writing. A motivated self-starter that is goal orientated and completes tasks quickly and efficiently with little daily guidance from manager will excel.
· Support our hardware service team by managing cloud browser-based safety applications (Browz, ISNet World, Sphera, TAPPISafe, DISA) and documentation that demonstrate our service team members meet the site-entry safety requirements to complete scheduled contracted services.
· Work directly with our customers to verify our safety programs and OSHA records meet their requirements and continual evolving requirements. - Tracking personnel site hours to meet Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) above ground regulations.
· Asses, track and schedule individual safety training to meet yearly goals and site entry requirements. - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Other responsibilities include reviewing contract specifications and requirements, occasionally creating service proposals, and completing instruments quality assurance tests report.
· This position requires rare occasional travel, which will be no more than 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, four-year occupational safety degree a PLUS;
· 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
