Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Position Highlights:

    Primary responsibilities include delivering current NSC proprietary workplace safety & health training (virtual instructor-led & classroom), developing new NSC training and custom training for customers, presenting at conferences and events as a representative of NSC, serving as a subject matter expert/internal technical reviewer, and providing sales assistance as needed as part of an integrated sales effort that involves NSC sales team and technical staff.

    What You’ll Do:

    Course Facilitation/Instruction (70%)

    • Prepare, organize and facilitate NSC virtual and classroom occupational safety & health training with attention to current instructional design principles to ensure participant engagement, focus, and information retention. Courses topics include: Principals of Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management Techniques. Job Safety Analysis, Team Safety, Incident Investigations, Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene, Safety Inspections, Industrial Hygiene Basics, Safety Training Methods, Risk Assessment, Safety Leadership,Recordkeeping, OSHA standards, Lift Truck/Forklift, and Ergonomics.
    • Serve a subject matter expert to develop new or custom NSC training, working with key stakeholders: sales, customers, product develop and workplace team
    • Collaborate and execute updates to current course materials/offerings
    • Present at conferences and events as a representative of NSC
    • Travel to clients to facilitate dedicated onsite courses. (The majority of NSC trainings are virtual-led)

    Serves as subject matter expert (10%)

    • Ensures technical accuracy and consistency is integrated into NSC projects
    • Responsible for monitoring significant trends in safety and is well versed in the NSC policy and positioning statements relative to workplace safety
    • Serves as an Occupational Safety & Health content guardian 
    • Provides technical expertise in the delivery of workplace training 
    • Maintains favorable relationships with other professionals and leaders in the field of safety and health and represents NSC professionally in those relationships 
    • Represents NSC to its members and general public by responding to inquiries on occupational safety and health issues

    Provides sales assistance as needed as part of an integrated sales effort (10%) 

    • Assists in sales-related activities, as directed ·
    • Coordinates with the workplace team and sales staff to provide technical expertise 
    • Works with the sales staff to determined project scope based on customer needs and assist with the development and delivery of proposals  Interacts with NSC training clients to understand needs and provides guidance on which products and services best addresses those needs

    Provides technical safety services to NSC (10%) 

    • Participates in Workplace strategy and consulting 
    • Serves on NSC employee safety committee 
    • Assists in the safety education and training of NSC staff regarding

    We’re Looking for Someone with: 

    Masters Degree - Safety management, business management, or other field of study with equivalent work experience. Work Experience - 10 plus years

    • Comprehensive understanding of safety management, occupational health and hygiene, and pertinent regulatory agencies and requirements
    • Minimum 10 years of occupational safety and health management experience with demonstrated experience in delivering consulting services including audits to management
    • Experience delivering training and technical services to management, supervisors and employees
    • Experience in dealing effectively with management, labor, and employees
    • Professional certifications a plus, especially Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
    • Master's in Public Health (MPH) a plus
    • Salary Range - $85,000 to $100,000
    • This is a remote position
