Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist would assist the management in developing, establishing and implementing methods for improving environmental, health and safety performance for the business.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate for this position will be proficient at the following:
· Identifies hazardous workplace conditions, takes samples and measurements, removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
· Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.
· Develops and implements the Company’s environmental, health and safety management systems to integrate EHS into the business operations
· Provides advice, assistance and guidance to all staff members to ensure the promotion of environmental health and safety throughout the Company.
· Interprets, recommends, and complies with safety, health and environmental regulations and/or company policy.
· Provides leadership, technical advice and training to the Company’s Operation staffs at multiple locations.
· Assists in the development and review of written health and safety documents including, but not limited to: Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans, Job Safety Analysis and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Participates in Root Cause Analyses for accidents and incidents that occur.
· Reviews all Near Misses and champions the Near Miss program and other proactive safety programs.
· Writes and updates environmental and spill-control manuals and procedures.
· Performs inspections of operations and job sites to evaluate compliance with established policies and procedures.
· Presents training on a variety of EHS topics to all employees.
· Serves as the liaison between the Safety Committee and the Management Team.
· Maintains safety and environmental compliance while meeting regulatory/corporate guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
· 3 years of safety management experience in environmental industrial services, waste management services or similar service business experience.
· 1 year of industry experience working with CSE, PPE, Hydroblasting, and related permit work.
· Demonstrated ability to train large groups of employees.
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.
· Strong communication skills with ability to speak in front of large groups of people.
· Ability to effectively interact with hourly field service personnel, administrative office staff, accounting personnel and management team.
· Ability to travel overnight to operating locations and job sites in the operating territory (mostly North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia).
· Ability to successfully complete an OSHA HAZMAT physical examination of those criteria that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
