Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. The purpose of the Machining Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of the department and the team to accomplish production and quality goals in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, the supervisory role plays a significant role in the coaching and development of hourly employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee fixturing, tooling and supplies.
Inspect defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for machine repairs to the maintenance department. Follow up to ensure the machine is in proper working order.
Assist in the set ups of manual and CNC machines.
Work with Master Scheduler to develop production schedules, estimate and maintain worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, write and update work instructions.
Identify gaps in current production times against standards.
Oversee and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment, tooling and work holding to increase efficiency of shop processes.
Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise machine shop personnel. This position will have 13 direct reports.
Carry-out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees ; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems, as necessary.
Oversee the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of daily operations in the hop, making sure production cycles and manufacturing processes are met.
Train employees in the proper use of equipment, enforce safety regulations, assign tasks and oversee employees' work.
Always ensure a clean and safe working environment throughout the department.
Continuously review manpower and overtime requirements. Coordinates overtime to ensure a cost effective and productive use of workforce.
