Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Essential Duties:
Plans daily/ weekly schedules and operating priorities for assigned team minimizing down time. Monitors labor reports.
Ensures that team is producing at or above communicated production, quality and safety goals.
Ensures compliance with QA/QC, safety, environmental, cost of operations goals and other performance and P&L metrics.
Ensures that resources are being utilized to achieve objectives.
Teaches cost control and provides effective counsel, especially where corrective actions are needed.
Provides leadership in achieving health and safety goals.
Proactively identifies safety and environmental issues and ensures compliance with Federal, State, Company and client standards.
Ensures that issues are identified, addressed, and elevated, if necessary, in a timely manner.
Works with HSE to recommend long-range accident reduction and cost containment objectives.
Maintains adequate and accurate inventory and daily status report to sustain state of readiness of tools and equipment.
Assists in conducting periodic repair parts, rental and equipment inventories.
Submits purchase requests for equipment and supplies to support service and repair operation.
Works with Sales, Customer Service and other internal departments to communicate and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner.
Reports status of operational issues to managers ongoing basis. Provides direct support to sales and marketing as needed.
Ensures that all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Coaches and counsels’ team and documents employee relations issues.
Ensures that all personnel receive safety and procedure training.
Plans and oversees a preventive maintenance program and ensures that equipment and other accessories are properly maintained and in top working condition.
Develops procedures for assigned operation.
Assists with establishing work standards for assigned area.
Assists with special projects as assigned. May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands. Oversees contractors as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 plus years of experience within the industry.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and ability in people management.
Organized and time management skills
Previous budgeting experience considered an asset.
Safety tickets considered an asset (i.e., First Aid w/ CPR, H2S, Fall Protection/Arrest, etc.)
Commercial driver’s license preferred; standard driver’s license required.
Ability to train and mentor employees.
Client focused with excellent customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office Required
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Working Environment:
Indoor/Outdoor working environment to include extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, and sun exposure.
Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, etc.
Educational Requirements:
Associates Degree or higher in related field preferred.
