Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Here's how a(n) Health Safety and Environment Supervisor for our Orlando office contributes to our team:

    Responsibilities

    • Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
    • Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training.
    • Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
    • Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
    • Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
    • Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
    • Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance.
    • Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken.
    • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
    • Bilingual preferred.
    • Holds safety designation.
    • 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry. Previous experience in a supervisory role an asset.
    • Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
    • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
    • Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
    • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
