Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Healthworks Safety, LLC is searching for a Project Site Safety Supervisor for a customer's project located in Stanton, TN at the Blue Oval battery project.

    This Site Safety Supervisor manages project-specific safety and health program to ensure compliance and the well-being of the customer's employees, contract partner employees, client personnel, and the general public. They will evaluate and coordinate project activities to comply with the rules and regulations set forth by OSHA CFR 1926, company policies and procedures, and project site-specific rules, specifications and regulations applicable to project safety.

    Responsibilities/ Duties:
    • Participates in safety pre-planning and hazard analysis for upcoming work activities.
    • Coordinates with project superintendents and project team members in the review of project schedules for safety planning purposes..
    • Attend pre-planning meetings, client safety meetings, and coordination meetings as required.
    • Facilitate the Site Specific Safety Orientation, badging and onboarding process for all employees prior to and upon of arrival on site.
    • Maintain employee required safety documentation. (i.e.) Competent Persons Documents, Equipment Qualifications, Specific Training Records, etc.
    • Ensure supervision complete daily Safe Work Plans, and Permits and review them with work crews before starting work activities.
    • Administer record-keeping and reporting guidelines as required by regulatory agencies, client-specific requirements, and company policies.
    • Assist in the development of Pre-Task Analysis (PTA's) Daily Task Analyses (DTA’s) for all contract partners.
    • Conduct daily/weekly safety audits and document deficiencies, corrective measures, and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Establish follow-up procedures for ensuring all items identified are corrected in a timely fashion.
    • Conducts accident, incident, and near-miss investigations. Complete Supervisors Incident Investigation Reports and submit them to appropriate personnel, internal and external.
    • Provide necessary training/coaching when at-risk observations are observed.
    • Supports the project superintendent in his efforts to maintain a safe and healthful workplace and assists with additional responsibilities as requested.
    • Support the issuance of work permits as necessary.
    • Accompanies any (authorized outside entities) personnel on safety inspections.
    • Serve as the point of contact to lead any work related injuries and worker compensation claims that may arise.

    Education/Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
    • OSHA 30-hour construction industry course within 3 years
    • Have competency in applicable construction safety standards such as but not limited to fall protection, scaffolding, aerial lifts and SIMOPS situations..
    • Have competency in electrical safety and LOTO requirements.
    • Have an understanding of mobile equipment operations and required operational skills.
    • Have the ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
