Environmental Compliance Specialist conducts required environmental tests, analysis and observations. Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Being an Environmental Compliance Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Environmental Compliance Specialist relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.     What Do We Do?
    At SWAT Environmental, we install “Radon Mitigation Systems” protect homes and businesses across the nation from the harmful effects of Radon, which is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas that escapes when uranium in the soil decays and can become concentrated in a home, seeping through cracks and openings in the foundation (basements). The EPA recommends that structures testing above 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter) have a Radon Mitigation System installed.

    *** Tech will be required to travel to either Missouri or Illinois to complete 4 weeks of training. Company will provide vehicle on 1st day and pay for any hotel stay. Once trained, the Technician may be required to periodically conduct overnight travel to complete jobs that are outside of their designated area to include Cedar Rapids, southern Wisconsin and Western Illinois. The technician will be compensated proportionally to the distance traveled. ***
    Who Qualifies?
    Required by the State of Iowa - The applicant must possess 3 years of relevant professional work experience and/or 2 years of relevant post-secondary education can be substituted for work experience. • Relevant professional work experience includes the design or construction of buildings, or associated heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, or closely related activities approved by the State of Iowa. The following relevant work experience are as follows:
    • Heating & Cooling (HVAC) installation and/or maintenance
    • Plumbing installation and/or maintenance
    • Carpentry framing, finishing, installation and/maintenance
    • Remodeling installation and/or maintenance
    • Drywall Installation
    • Electrical installation and/or maintenance
    • Roofing installation and/or maintenance
    • Waterproofing installation
    • Radon mitigation installation
    • Concrete-basement pours, slab on grade, driveway-side walk building construction related installation
    • Brick laying (Masonry) installation and/or maintenance
    • Maintenance relating to building construction
    • Trenching relating to building construction
    Ability to:
    • Travel for training and work assignments as mentioned above
    • Lift and carry a 60lb ladders at 40ft and above
    • Work in confined spaces (turn, twist, bend, stoop, reach)
    • Acquire and maintaining the required certifications (paid training)
    • Communicate well with customers in their homes
    • Operate drill, hole-saw, coring drills and other hand tools safely
    • Use technology such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops
