Environmental Compliance Specialist conducts required environmental tests, analysis and observations. Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Being an Environmental Compliance Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Environmental Compliance Specialist relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.     Description

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Receive, process, and finalize court orders, including, but not limited to garnishments, levies, and liens.
    • Receive, process, and finalize subpoenas and summonses.
    • Review, process, and monitor Power of Attorney, Trust, and UTMA documents and accounts.
    • Assist with reviewing probate court documents.
    • Assist with reviewing guardianship/conservatorship accounts, and court ordered account restrictions and transactions.
    • Assist with complaint tracking and review process.
    • Assist members and staff with compliance related questions and research.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Compliance Officer.

    Qualifications


    KNOWLEDGE

    • Three or more years of financial institution or legal related experience with basic knowledge of state and federal credit union regulations.
    • An understanding of credit union operations, policies, and procedures.
    • Experience in researching transactions with financial institution data systems.
    • Thorough knowledge of banking products and services.
    • Ability to conduct in depth, accurate and timely research.

    • Must be able to effectively communicate with members, third parties, and staff. Must possess above average verbal/written communication and listening skills.
    • Must be able to follow up effectively; have a keen eye for detail; follow department and credit union policies and procedures; perform job functions with minimal supervision; meet deadlines; manage time effectively; and take responsibility for own actions.
    • Must be able to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects and responsibilities at the same time.
    • Must be able to remain professional, calm, and positive during difficult interactions with members and various third parties.
    • Must have above average computer skills in relation to Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point, and must be able to function and complete tasks in a very fast paced environment.

    EDUCATION

    • A college degree in a business-related field or an equivalent field, or at least 3 years of compliance experience.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:

    • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period of time.
    • Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
    • Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
    • Constant communication with others through various channels, including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
    • Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
    • Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.
