    Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Environmental Engineer (Solid Waste) who is looking for new learning experiences, opportunities for career growth, and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success.  This position will be located in our Green Bay, WI, Milwaukee, WI, Minneapolis, MN, or Cedar Rapids, IA locations or working remotely from a home office in or near Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Serve as primary technical resource for solid waste projects including solid waste facilities and solid waste planning.
    • Oversee the development and quality control review of plans and specifications and serve as the engineer of record for municipal solid waste, ash monofill and demolition landfill waste facility construction projects.
    • Provide hands-on technical engineering for solid waste projects (issue identification and resolution, project team leadership, delivery of projects within scope/schedule/budget, technical quality, etc.).
    • Lead communications to teams/systems/processes to complete projects that deliver high quality and on-time completion while providing input for continuous improvements.
    • Serve as a primary contact for clients regarding solid waste projects.
    • Participate in proposals/presentations, attend client meetings, advocate for client and stakeholder interests in public meetings, attend trade shows that support client interests, facilitate meetings between clients, suppliers and vendors, meet with regulatory agencies and contractors as owner’s representative.
    • Proactively identify client needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
    • Demonstrate effective client and project team communication skills with a focus on technical issues for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
    • Negotiate scope change orders with clients and subcontractors.
    • Coach junior engineers to develop their technical skills.
    • Maintain all licenses and certifications in good standing.


    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
    • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
    • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in solid waste projects
    • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain
    • Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and standards for design of waste facilities and emerging regulatory issues
    • Positive working relationships with federal and/or state regulators on permitting and compliance of waste facilities


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
    • 5 - 10 years of experience working in the engineering consulting industry 
    • 3 - 5 years project management / coordination experience
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
    • Experience with sustainability practices such as Extended Producer Responsibility, Sustainable Materials Management, Circular Economies, Waste Diversion and Zero Waste
