  • GENERAL SUMMARY: Coordinates interdisciplinary engineering functions, performs technical liaison with Delphinus staff, customers, and technical authorities as tasked, and supports repair and installation teams as needed to resolve technical issues. Oversees efficient and timely accomplishment of engineering tasks and functions. Experience with commercial/shipboard fire detection systems, design, and testing requirements is important for this position.

    LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

    • Support Sonar Dome Pressurization System overhaul and training (SPOT) for U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) components.
    • Assess the material readiness of the Sonar Dome Pressurization System (SDPS), overhaul the system, repair and or replace selected system components, train ship’s force in system operation, conduct valve maintenance and installation methods and lastly perform system evaluation, testing, alignment and calibration as required.
    • Revise and prepare HM&E logistics documentation, including Technical Manuals, Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRCs), parts lists, etc.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to equipment technical assistance teams in the assessment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of shipboard fire detection equipment.
