Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Healthcare Facilities Maintenance Director/Safety Officer supervises, directs, or assists in the performance of repairs and replacement/installations related to the buildings, grounds and physical plant of the Hospital and associated buildings; other key organizational and departmental initiatives; as well as the leadership oversight of assigned departments and projects. Develops and implements appropriate plans to productively move assigned efforts forward; tracks, monitors and reports results of efforts to ensure accountability. Supports, coaches and mentors staff and other leaders to improve organizational understanding and related performance.
