TITLE: Health and Safety Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Quality Manager
Position Summary
Direct the Plant’s efforts to ensure a safe work environment and to ensure that the Plant is in compliance with federal, state and local safety and environmental rules and regulations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Verify that all production, material handling, and transportation equipment and machines comply with applicable safety and environmental regulations. Initiate corrective action where non-compliance exists.
· Insure all employees are provided personal protective equipment and tools to do their jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
· Conduct safety and environmental training as required by government regulations.
· Maintain the Plant’s first aid station.
· Maintain all SDS requirement
· Perform safety audits and accident investigations.
· Work with Human Resources to insure the accuracy of all recordkeeping.
· Represent the Plant before regulatory agencies, government inspectors or auditors, and secure necessary certificates or letters of compliance.
· Responsible for continuous improvement in the Plant’s safety and environmental initiative.
· Maintain documentation as required under KOSHA standards and in accordance with EPA regulations. Submit reports as required in a timely manner.
· Coordinate the Plant’s safety effort with those of the Corporate and Divisional Offices.
· Seek ways for good housekeeping and to reduce waste, manufacturing byproducts, and hazardous raw materials.
· Promote positive employee/employer relations
· Perform other duties as assigned, including the following:
Data input for Balancing and painting process
Assist Production Manager with special projects
MEASUREMENTS
· Plant’s OSHA and Lost Time Accident Rate.
· Plant’s compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
·Four year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent experience.
·Three to five years experience as Plant Safety or his/her assistant.
·Proven record of leadership and the desire to excel.
