Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. is looking for an EHS professional for a construction project in the federal domain.   We are looking for construction safety professionals with at least 10 years of continuous construction safety experience who are passionate about the safety and health of employees, an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing, good computer skills and is self-directed. This project will be in the Las Cruses, NM area and should run for 1-2 months.

    In addition, we are looking for someone who can fulfill the following criteria:
    • Provide EHS support to the management team
    • Coordinate with the facility management team on any needed training, daily inspections, reporting and other EHS activities as directed.
    • Complete regular, standardized reports detailing project safety status and report to management. 
    • Maintain safety logs – file and track all site safety reports, injuries and illnesses. 
    • Assist in external agency interactions (OSHA Inspectors, OSHA Log Management) as appropriate. 
     
    Qualifications:
    • Ten years continuous safety management experience with at least 5 years of USACE jobs (not more than 3-4 month gap between projects)
    • 30-hr OSHA construction card (per USACE EM385-1-1) with applicable training each year
    • Current First Aid/CPR certificate
    • Trained in  USACE EM385-1-1 
    • At least 8 hours of documented training per year for the past 5 years
    • The client will fly you to and from the job site to home, provide a rental vehicle and will provide hotel accommodations.  Meals and incidentals will be at the GSA rate of $69/day.
