Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Environmental Remediation - Project Manager

  • Overview

    As an Environmental Scientist/Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you’ll conduct office and field activities related to environmental remediation projects and help develop plans, permit applications, and reports. Duties may include:

    • Preparing and reviewing environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to help interprets results and make recommendations for further action.
    • Oversight of environmental remediation projects both in an emergency and non-emergency setting.
    • Contributing to the preparation and review of environmental regulatory reports and plans, specifically under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) and other state remedial programs in New England.
    • Conducting underground storage tank (UST) closure assessments.
    • Conducting field investigations, data collection, and site reconnaissance tasks, including sampling of a variety of environmental media.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • B.S. in Environmental Science or related field;
    • 6 years professional experience;
    • Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) experience a plus;
    • Detailed-oriented;
    • Ability to work independently;
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
    • Ability to speak effectively;
    • Ability to use Microsoft Word Processing and MS Excel spreadsheet software.
