Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Requires knowledge of finance options, good math skills, basic knowledge of Excel, and the ability to solve problems. Ag background and sales experience helpful. Clean driving record required (CDL a plus). Some assembly and lifting required.

    Responsibilities

    • Promote the sale of new and used farm equipment to new and current customers
    • Represent Vetter Equipment during the sale of products and services to a customer base in a defined sales area
    • Establish and maintain customer relationships in order to effectively market and support the sale of equipment that meets the needs and future goals of customers
    • Responsible for sales activities including lead generation in a defined sales area
    • Accurately complete sales paperwork in a timely manner
    • Maintain and effectively communicate current product knowledge on features and benefits of equipment and technology to customers
    • Maintain ongoing customer support following the sale, promoting related products and services offered through the dealership to meet the customer’s current needs and future goals
    • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trade purposes
    • Understand financing options to assist customers with the purchase of new and used equipment
    • Participate in conducting effective product demonstrations and clinics

    Qualifications

    • Good people skills with the ability to build relationships and enjoy conversing with potential customers from a variety of backgrounds
    • Direct sales experience and/or training
    • Knowledge of ag equipment and the use of equipment in farming operations
    • Understanding of the ongoing flow of market and industry conditions pertaining to agriculture and farming operations
    • Be team oriented with a positive attitude and the desire to provide excellent customer service
