Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Assemble all makes and models of farm equipment, including but not limited to: seeding, harvesting, sprayer, and tillage equipment. Travel to various dealerships such as John Deere, Case, and Kubota. Equipment is assembled on-site at the dealership.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret assembly instructions and blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
Verify specifications, interpret measurements, and assemble farm equipment components as instructed in the guide book
Operate fork lift, heavy machinery, and power tools for assembly functions
Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly for quality assurance
Troubleshoot assembly issues and perform repairs as needed, reporting errors to crew leader
Document actions by completing production and quality forms
Contribute to team effort and assist with training new crew members
Qualification Requirements
Willing to travel - Driver's license preferred, but not required
Mechanically inclined
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to use hand and power tools, measuring devices, and basic math
Ability to work effectively in a team
Comfort in working in an outdoor setting
Experience with farm equipment preferred, but not required; training provided
2 years mechanical labor experience required
Travel Information
Position is full time (40 hours) Monday – Friday. Opportunity for OT. We provide transportation and lodging. Crews consist of 2 or 3 guys depending on the job. Length of travel time varies depending on the job and discretion of the crew. Flexibility with needed time off, we can accommodate your needs.
