Ensures equipment and processes maintain throughput, yield, safety, and reliability objectives. Additionally, Equipment Engineer maintains an up-to-date knowledge of equipment vendors' changes, upgrades, and innovations. Prepares preventive maintenance plans and procedures for all equipment and provides technical support during maintenance or turnaround processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Alexander Gow Fire Equipment Company is looking for an experienced Fire Equipment Service Technician to service fire and life-safety systems for Hawaii land-based and marine service customers. Company provided, neighbor-island and overnight travel may be required on occasion. We will provide on-the-job training for manufacturer specific certifications, which may involve mainland travel.
Service Technicians are responsible for inspection and service for the following life safety systems: fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, galley and range hood fire suppression systems, SCBA, EEBD, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, foam, standpipes, and other life safety systems.
Our ideal team member is motivated with good work ethic, and the ability to work independently. Pay will depend on experience in the life safety industry. City/county systems and portables license required within 90 days of hire. Recommended certifications include: NICET certifications in Special Hazard, Fire Alarm, and Inspection of Water-Based Systems.
We are looking for experienced Fire Equipment Technicians but may consider candidates with electrical, mechanical and/or construction experience. Some heavy lifting (50 lbs.) may be required.
We will provide safety equipment, training, service vehicle, special tools, and anything else that mutually benefits customers and the company.
