Pipestone Equipment is coming up on its 15th year of business as a solutions and engineered water products provider within the municipal and industrial markets in the Rocky Mountain region (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico) and Northern Plains (North Dakota, South Dakota & Minnesota). We deal primarily with valves, water control gates, electrical and pneumatic actuators, pump stations, and surge protection equipment. Summary:
We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead and oversee sales operations across the organization. The successful candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Colorado and report in to our Golden, CO office. Reporting positions include Sales Engineers and Estimators located in Colorado, Montana and New Mexico. This position will report to the General Manager of the branch.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Develop, execute, and report on sales strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and delivered by the team.
· Facilitate through a sales team (and contribute through his or her own actions) the successful solicitation and securing of new customers.
· Maintain relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance.
· Identify and build relationships with all decision makers, key contacts, and stakeholders during and after the sales process.
· Use current pricing tools and follow internal processes to secure pricing for all large bids and opportunities.
· Manage high level relationships with contractors, distributors, engineering firms and our manufacturing teaming partners and communicate a consistent message to each of those entities.
· Travel with sales team members to visit both customers and teaming partners.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Highly self-motivated and accustomed to operating with little supervision.
· Experience in managing and forecasting a sales pipeline.
· Must demonstrate solid listening skills and a consultative sales approach.
· A candidate with a technical mind and experience selling, servicing or engineering the equipment listed above will be preferred.
· Must have the ability to accommodate travel to client sites, industry events and make joint calls with remote sales team members. (25% of the time)
· Must be flexible, detailed, team-oriented and committed to doing an outstanding job.
· Set aggressive goals and objectives while building an environment of trust for the sales team.
· Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects.
Education and Experience:
· Minimum BS/BA degree (preferably in a field related to our industry)
· Minimum eight-years proven experience managing and motivating a local and remote sales team.
