Estate Planning Director directs all aspects of the estate planning function including sales, staffing, and supervision. Participates in training and estate planning workshops. Being an Estate Planning Director ensures that the agency stays abreast of regulatory guidelines and new trends in the field. Researches and advises on tax, technical, and legal questions. Additionally, Estate Planning Director introduces new life products to the field and contributes to design of related software and tools. May be a speaker at insurance conferences or meetings. Requires a bachelor's degree of business, marketing, or mathematics. Typically reports to top management. May require Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). The Estate Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Estate Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities

    • Meet with clients to design, maintain and sign their estate planning documents
    • Counsel clients by listening to their stories, assessing options, and, in partnership with the clients, determining the best course of action and the correct documents to successfully accomplish their goals
    • Draft estate planning documents including Wills, Trusts, Health Care Directives, and Powers of Attorney
    • Review, summarize, and analyze clients' existing estate planning documents, including making the appropriate recommendations regarding changes in the law, family circumstances, and client residency
    • Probate the estates of clients who have passed and protect their families and loved ones in court if and when challenges arise
    • Work diligently to ensure that our clients receive top-notch legal services and excellent results prompting an "impressed" reaction after each encounter
    • Show compassion and empathy when dealing with clients and demonstrate an ability to earn their trust, confidence, and respect by truly caring about their needs
    • Display approachable professionalism along with wit and grit sourced from innate integrity that is beyond reproach
    • Possess remarkable character and intelligence grounded in common sense

    Qualifications

    • Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
    • Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia
    • A minimum of 1 years of experience in the practice of estate planning is preferred, but gumption and a fire in the belly to succeed is more determinative
    • Outstanding communication and customer service abilities are a must
    • Writing Skills, Writing Skills, Writing Skills!!!
    • Proficiency in MS Office is required. TABS, WordPerfect, Westlaw, and Nexis are valued, but not required
    • Must support the firm's culture and beliefs by exhibiting a high-level prioritization of client care and satisfaction
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact fully, effectively, and appropriately with a vast array of people under a wide range of circumstances and to leave them all singing our praises!
    • Necessary aptitude in order to communicate dynamically and productively by telephone, e-mail, and in-person, with a diverse group of people conveying information with courtesy and tact
