Estimator - Cost develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools. Analyzes project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being a Estimator - Cost uses benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Additionally, Estimator - Cost provides guidance and training on estimating best practices. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. What will my day look like?
The Costing Estimator is responsible for estimating material, labor, and associated costs from receipt of project drawings to the final proposal. Candidates will also be responsible for interim and post job studies. This task will be accomplished through a strong team spirit, exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and an extensive knowledge of material and manufacturing process. This is an hourly role generally working Monday-Friday on first shift. We can be flexible on start and end times as long as you are meeting business needs. Hourly team members typically work 40 hours each week and during high business need, overtime is offered on Saturdays.
