Estimator - Cost develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools. Analyzes project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being a Estimator - Cost uses benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Additionally, Estimator - Cost provides guidance and training on estimating best practices. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     • Participates in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy meetings, and post-construction meetings as requested
    • Develops positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and fellow employees
    • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
    • Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
    • Compiling labor and material estimates
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
    • Managing bids from vendors and contractors
    • Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
    • Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
