Estimator - Cost develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools. Analyzes project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being a Estimator - Cost uses benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Additionally, Estimator - Cost provides guidance and training on estimating best practices. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. POSITION PURPOSE:
The Cost Estimator will collect and analyze data to assess the time, money, material, and labor required to manufacture a part, product, or service. They help with bids for new customers, and support buying activities. Cost estimators collaborate with engineers, our quoting team, and the commercial team and are a key team member in driving the business forward.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of shop math through trigonometry. Knowledge of machining processes, tool and fixture design, time standards, and machine center capabilities. Engineering principles, tools, and concepts. Project management principles (i.e., Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt charting, critical path management, etc.)
Required Experience: Preferred at least 10 years of progressive CNC milling and CNC turning experience in a precision machining job shop environment. Some CAD/CAM software experience a plus (i.e., Gibbs CAM, SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc.). Proficient with Microsoft software ERP system.
Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated examples of initiative and aggressiveness in completing programs; including leading small cross-functional projects that span multiple MultiSource sites. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with a wide variety of manufacturing personnel and others at all levels.
Language Ability: Ability to read, write and verbally communicate English.
