Purpose of Position: An Estimator plays a key role in the overall operations of E&B Paving. This person is a customer service representative who has internal and external customers. The external customers are new and existing clients. Internal customers are his/her fellow co-workers and teammates. It is their responsibility to be actively involved in projects, from bidding to collection. They must understand all aspects of the project and offer assistance to the field when needed. Communication amongst all parties is vital to success. Communication includes verbal and non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes paperwork given to the field. The estimator must learn to prioritize their tasks and utilize their time appropriately.
