Under the supervision of the Chief Enterprise Strategy Officer and General Counsel, the Vice President, Compliance and Ethics will spearhead the organization’s compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations and maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct. This individual will be relied upon to maintain compliance activities across all regulatory bodies relevant to the Company. The VP, Compliance and Ethics will strategically identify, manage, and resolve compliance risks, working collaboratively with Legal, Operations, and People Services to pursue regulatory compliance consistency and standardization across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Oversight: Provide comprehensive compliance oversight and proactively identify, prioritize, and monitor compliance risks at all office locations.
- Reporting and Communication: Deliver detailed reports on compliance issues and violations to senior management, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Policy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of compliance related policies, procedures, and programs across all offices, including but not limited to OSHA, OCR, ADA, and DOL.
- Strategic Support: Provide compliance expertise to support strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Investigations: Lead internal investigations into compliance issues, informing senior leadership of critical situations as necessary.
- Monitoring and Resolution: Track issue resolution progress, identify emerging risks, and notify management of potential shortfalls.
- Employee Engagement: Engage team members on compliance matters to ensure a thorough understanding and adherence to regulations.
- Regulatory Insight: Provide proactive regulatory insights on new and upcoming regulations, preparing the organization for changes.
- Senior Leadership Collaboration: Influence and partner with senior leaders to identify emerging trends and potential future risks.
- Metrics and Monitoring: Develop and analyze metrics and tools to monitor compliance effectively.
- Risk Assessments: Identify opportunities for targeted compliance risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Corrective Action Plans: Initiate, track, and monitor corrective action plans resulting from regulatory examinations and other audits.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Regulatory Affairs, or related field, and 10 years of management experience in regulatory affairs and/or compliance. In lieu of degree, 12 years of professional experience.
- Advanced skills in the area of project management, planning, investigations and implementing compliance initiatives.
- Experience working with HIPAA Privacy, OSHA, and other compliance related issues.
Preferred
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
- Experience working in multi-state healthcare, clinical, or dental environment.

- High degree of autonomy in taking action to set long-term (5-10 years) operational goals given general managerial direction and functional policies.

- Self-motivated individual with an ability to navigate within a complex, multi-layered organization; able to collaborate among cross-functional departments.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and sustaining effective and energized working relationships with leaders to align people at all levels with PDS’ strategic objectives.

- Must be proactive; willing to provide new and meaningful alternatives to current practices and programs, while providing both strategic and tactical plans required accomplishing the mission- at-hand.
- Ability to direct the work of others and work as a team leader in attainment of goals. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Ability to lead multiple functions/departments/programs that have high visibility and significant impact on the business.
