Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist supports and coordinates the activities of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Assists with the delivery and maintenance of programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist prepares materials that communicate the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Supports or delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist generates reports of compliance monitoring statistics, investigations, outcomes, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. May administer reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Labor Compliance Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position with an hourly pay rate of $26.00 to $30.00, based on experience. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Labor Compliance Specialist will be responsible for providing overall compliance support to projects requiring prevailing wage and other specific labor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for labor compliance company-wide
• Monitor and review certified payroll—both internal self-perform work and external subcontractors
• Reviews and verifies payroll records, fringe benefit statements, employer training contributions, and apprenticeship paperwork to determine compliance with applicable rules and regulations
• Sends correspondence for missing documents and requests revised documentation with the applicable subcontractor’s staff to ensure compliance
• Work with LCP Tracker and other compliance monitoring software to review and approve certified payroll and payroll documents
• Review all public contracts (and any private contracts that have special requirements) for labor requirements (certified payroll, skilled labor, local hire, diversity, and other such labor-related requirements) and work with our self-perform team to ensure an appropriate plan is in place to monitor and report, as well as to ensure proper submissions to agencies
• Participate and compile information for third-party / Government reviews, audits and inquiries
• Manage Insurance approvals with in-house software "Billy.”
• Assist payroll as backup support and other departments with workload when available
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Experience working with public works labor compliance programs preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and accounting software
