Ethics & Compliance Office Administrative Asst. coordinates the administrative work of the ethics and compliance function of the organization. Acts as a liaison with outside vendors to provide materials for the program including manuals and posters. Being an Ethics & Compliance Office Administrative Asst. receives helpline calls, faxes and emails from outside vendors, tracks issues and routes them to appropriate staff groups. Utilizes corporate software to input and track helpline call data. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Office Administrative Asst. processes routine inquires and provides data in accordance with established policies and procedures. Codes and submits invoices for department charges, maintains tracking files, reconciles corporate credit card receipts and monthly statements for reimbursement, and prepares spreadsheets for charge backs to departmental cost statements. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Ethics & Compliance Office Administrative Asst. typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the skill.   • This is a full time exempt Risk Director/Ethics & Compliance Officer position in the Risk department.

    The primary responsibilities of Director of Risk/Ethics/Compliance are to ensure that safe patient care is provided and that the mechanisms are in place for risk reduction and that processes are developed and maintained for improving organizational performance. The Director is responsible for coordinating and facilitating Risk, Ethics, Compliance, and Safety programs throughout hospital and offsite entities (employed physician clinics and others falling under hospital regulatory umbrella) per authority granted from Governing Board/CEO. Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information. In coordination with the CEO, maintains an effective patient safety program in collaboration with Lifepoint HSC Risk, Compliance, and PSO, Senior Leadership and Quality Director. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Associate degree required.
    • Registered Nurse in State of Montana or related field required.
    • Five (5) years healthcare experience.
    • BLS
    • Minimum of five years industry related experience in health care compliance, quality assurance or related field.
    • Strong working knowledge of current federal and state regulations and healthcare laws, relevant regulatory guidance, auditing procedures, HIPAA, coding, and risk management.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and fraud and abuse laws.
    • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials on findings and actions taken.
    • Ability to develop and conduct effective compliance training programs.
    • Strong business acumen, understanding of key business drivers and how the business works.
    • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent people skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to plan, implement and manage multiple projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames, as well as the ability to deal with priority changes.
    • Must be self-motivated and can work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.

    Preferred/Desired:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • One or more years of previous experience in risk management, legal or insurance related field, preferred.
    • Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred at hire, if candidate does not possess, will obtain within 3 years.
    • Certification Professional Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred at hire, if candidate does not possess, will obtain within 3 years.
