The City of Medford is excited to announce the opening of a Records Specialist position. Highlights of this position include : Providing customer service and resources to citizens, employees, and other agencies both in person and by telephone.
Complex clerical and technical work involving extensive computer entry, retrieval and distribution of sensitive and confidential information.
ability to understand oral and written instructions and to act upon them accordingly, act effectively and calmly in emergency situations, work effectively with the public, other agencies, and other employees.
The successful candidate must also possess strong customer service skills.
A qualified applicant is one who :
Is a high school graduate or has a GED equivalent.*Has two (2) years of clerical work experience.

The Records division operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Police Records Specialists will be assigned to work four 10-hour shifts during the day, swing, and graveyard shifts including weekends and holidays.
Shift assignments are based on seniority and operational need.A requirement of this position is to rotate between day, swing and graveyard shifts.
Potential Pay Differentials : *English / Spanish bilingual proficiency 4.5%*College credits up to 10% for a bachelor’s degree
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $23.40 (first step) to $24.55 or $25.78 (second or third step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law.
Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
