Handles a wide range of administrative and support tasks and independently initiates and implements processes to manage projects, information, and people. Being an Executive Assistant manages the executive's schedule, meeting preparations, follow-up tasks, and complex travel arrangements. Conducts research and information gathering on behalf of the executive and prepares summaries and reports. Additionally, Executive Assistant develops positive and strategic relationships at all levels of the organization. Uses discretion, judgment, and knowledge of the organization to facilitate the executive's activities and maintain confidentiality. May be responsible for directing and deploying support staff or other resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to c-suite executive. Alaska Village Electric is seeking a self-motivated, creative, and organized Executive Assistant & Publicist to join our executive team. The Executive Assistant & Publicist will play a vital role in supporting our Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors while also managing our public relations efforts to engage with our Members.
As the Executive Assistant & Publicist you will be providing excellent clerical services, administrative support, and public communications for the President/CEO, the Board of Directors, and the membership of the Cooperative. For the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for board meetings, preparing resolutions and action items for board signatures. On the Publicist side, your responsibilities will include creating and publishing media content that promotes the staff, members and goals of the cooperative and writing monthly content for the Ruralite magazine. Other primary duties will include maintaining documents and maintaining relationships with state and federal agencies, city and tribal governments, trade associations and business partners of the cooperative.
