Director of Provider Compensation
Remote position
Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Provider Compensation to join the Accounting/Finance team in the Fort Myers, FL area. We are looking for a new team member who is positive, energetic, well-organized, can multi-task, and think outside of the box. The Provider Compensation Director will be responsible for the leadership of the provider compensation team (PCT) and the strategic direction and general compensation design, planning, and implementation of the provider compensation programs. Provides routine analytical reports and support to leadership, physicians, advanced providers, high-level personnel, and other relevant stakeholders regarding compensation plans. Is available to educate and answer questions regarding changes to compensation methodologies and/or regulations. The Director is also responsible for the administration of approved provider compensation plans.
Responsibilities
-Direct and assist with presentations related to provider compensation and communication matters to the Provider Compensation Committee and other committees.
-Handle all Advanced Practitioner (AP) compensation-related matters and manage the AP engagement committee.
-Conduct structured periodic meetings with high-level personnel and Executive Leadership from different operational areas to support operations leaders.
-Meet with providers to discuss and review compensation programs/reports and address any inquiries.
-Direct and support the development, implementation, and administration of provider compensation models, particularly specialty compensation plans with Specialist Provider leaders.
-Overseeing the Provider Compensation Team (PCT) and ensuring the accuracy of internal reports used to analyze and create provider compensation reports.
-Reviewing systems associated with provider compensation calculations and recommending enhancements to improve efficiency.
-Documenting and implementing accounting controls by analyzing current controls, policies, and procedures, and recommending and implementing changes.
-Oversees the reconciliation of compensation-related general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and review journal entries associated with compensation activity.
-Direct the development and implementation of the annual audit of provider compensation matters.
-Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees on the Provider Compensation Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a business-related field required.
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or CPA preferred.
• 3 years of Provider Compensation (highly desired), accounting, and/or Finance experience.
• 5 years of managerial experience required, preferably in Provider compensation in a hospital or multi-practice environment.
• Advanced Excel skills required. Experience with EMR, payroll, and enterprise accounting and Heisenberg II enterprise software programs is preferred.
• Able to demonstrate confidentiality and privacy regarding Provider Compensation plans and programs.
• Ability to influence change, clarify ambiguity, and mobilize team members at all levels in the organization for meaningful action.
• Ability to perform other accounting, financial, or administrative special projects and tasks.
• Demonstrated analytical and data modeling experience and skills.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
