Executive Response Specialist provides timely resolutions to customer complaints that have escalated to the highest level within the organization. Coordinates with product/service suppliers and/or contact center staff to research and determine validity of complaints and evaluate options to remedy these complaints. Being an Executive Response Specialist reviews the underlying facts of the complaint, determines an appropriate solution, and delivers the response to the customer. Requires a thorough knowledge of the products/services offered, well developed customer service skills, and clear understanding of the company's policy regarding complaints. Additionally, Executive Response Specialist exercises a large degree individual discretion and judgement. Tracks complaints and makes recommendations to management designed to reduce the number of complaints. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Executive Response Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     We are seeking a Principal Emergency Response Specialist to serve as an Operations Command Center (OCC) Duty Manager.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • High-Pressure Performance: Excel in a high-stakes, team-oriented environment, managing multiple priorities with resilience. Demonstrate unparalleled composure and the ability to facilitate constructive dialogue with a diverse range of stakeholders, even under extreme pressure.
    • Emergency Response Leadership: Serve as the frontline coordinator for emergency incidents at the NNSS, embodying the role of Operations Command Center (OCC) Duty Manager with exemplary leadership.
    • Operational Emergency Assessment: Swiftly categorize and classify operational emergencies, initiating immediate protective measures and coordinating response efforts effectively.
    • Critical Communication: Execute timely and accurate notifications internally and externally, maintaining a transparent and open communication channel with MSTS Senior Management, NNSA/NFO personnel, and other key stakeholders.
    • Interagency Collaboration: Act as a pivotal liaison with federal, state, and local agencies, including the Department of Defense and municipal entities, to streamline response efforts and resource sharing.
    • Emergency Management Planning: Contribute to the development and refinement of emergency management procedures, checklists, and instructional materials, ensuring they are current, comprehensive, and compliant with DOE standards.
    • Emergency Operations Support: Engage actively in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operations, providing essential support during activations for emergencies and scheduled events. Assume critical roles within the EOC, contributing to effective response coordination.
    • Drill and Exercise Leadership: Lead and coordinate drills and exercises, enhancing the preparedness and response capabilities of the OCC and broader emergency management team.
    • Technology Proficiency: Operate and manage sophisticated communication and data processing technologies, including classified video conferencing, Emergency Communications Network equipment, and electronic notification systems, ensuring seamless information flow during critical incidents.
    • Training and Development: Participate in the development, review, and endorsement of operational procedures and training materials.
    • Flexibility and Adaptability: Adapt to a rotating shift schedule, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to ensuring continuous operational readiness and response capability.
    • Additional Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by supervisory personnel, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of emergency management operations at the NNSS.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management preferred.
    • Two years of experience in emergency management, emergency response center operations, NNSS operations support, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Must be able to cope with conflicting priorities, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks during high stress operations.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyze them and recommend solutions with minimal guidance.
    • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
    • High level of written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact professionally in-person and via remote technology. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms to prepare accurate, concise, complete, and informative materials.
    • Demonstrate leadership, command presence, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a rotating shift environment.
    • Primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must possess a valid driver license.
    MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance
    (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”
