Executive Staff Assistant

  • The Executive Staff Assistant is a pivotal role within the department, providing high-level administrative support to the AVP of HR and the Associate Director of IT. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

    Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in word processing, typing, shorthand, and grammar; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive University work experience in maintaining account ledgers, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; editing, composing correspondence, taking dictation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in management, finance, business, human resources or related field.
    • Experience in an administrative role in HR, IT, or an executive office.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
    • Experience in an academic setting.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high level of professionalism.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, software.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
    • Understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations
