JOB TITLE:
Archives Aide – Part-time Exhibit Researcher and Writer
JOB PURPOSE:
The Archives Aide will be responsible for researching and writing physical and virtual exhibits using American Heritage Center collections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Archives Aide’s duties will include but are not limited to: contributing exhibit ideas, conducting historical research using archival materials, synthesizing research into engaging written copy for online and physical exhibits, curating and digitizing exhibit documents and photos to create compelling narratives, preparing exhibit materials, print preparation, printing, matting, framing, creating advertising materials and press releases about completed exhibits.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma/GED or higher.
Experience: Factual content writing based on historical research, which is commensurate with the preparation college level papers and presentations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should be proficient in, research using primary sources, text analysis and synthesis into a concise, cohesive, narrative suitable for the general public. Familiarity with Canva and experience in matte cutting strongly preferred
