Exploration Director directs and develops an organization's oil and gas exploration projects. Analyzes and evaluates the opportunities, risk and profits for oil and gas deposits exploration. Being an Exploration Director initiates exploration plans based on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs geological and geophysical programs and may have oversight for land acquisition and leasing activities. Additionally, Exploration Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Exploration Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Exploration Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     EXPLO’s summer programs run this summer from June 30th to August 9th, 2024, with staff orientation beginning on June 22nd. 

    The Opportunity:
    Instructional Coaches are part of the Office of Teaching Learning which is responsible for ensuring students have the best possible experience in their career concentrations, workshops, and electives while at the Program. Instructional Coaches supervise and mentor Instructors, many of whom are first-time teachers. They observe Instructors in the classroom and work together to find imaginative ways to deliver planned curriculum, strengthen Instructors’ teaching skills, and gain confidence in the classroom throughout the summer. Coaches also support Instructors in procuring materials, setting up classrooms, and coordinating special events for their workshops and electives. In addition to their primary job responsibilities, Instructional Coaches will also perform a variety of other tasks that contribute to the Program's success, which may include chaperoning weekend trips, teaching an elective, leading student activities, or assisting with event setup.

    Teacher Supervision Coaching:
    • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide professional feedback to teachers
    • Ensure that academic offerings are fun yet appropriately challenging for students
    • Work with teachers to revise lessons and respond to student feedback
    • Coach teachers in a variety of instructional strategies including hands-on and experiential learning
    • Develop a collaborative relationship with teachers that focuses on strengthening their skills and gaining confidence in the classroom
    • Develop and facilitate professional development workshops for teachers
    • Support teachers in creating inclusive learning environments

    Campus Operations Student Life:
    • Provide leadership in all aspects of the summer program, including off-campus trips, activities, workshops, and evening events
    • Live on campus, and support operational and programmatic tasks as needed; this will include a variety of tasks, as they may be assigned to you,  that are necessary to program function

    About You:
    You’ve got:
    • A Bachelor’s degree
    • An understanding of project-based teaching strategies, and how to engage students through hands-on learning
    • Availability to live and work on campus for the duration of the summer program

    Ideally, you’ve also got:
    • 2 years of professional teaching experience by the summer, or the equivalent at EXPLO or a similar program

    Compensation Benefits:
    This is a seven week, seasonal position. Remote training for this role may begin as early as January 2024. In person training begins in mid-June 2024. Compensation for this role starts at $6400 plus room and board.
