Extrusion Operator sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Extrusion Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Position Reports To: Production Supervisor

    The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by persons assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

    General Summary: Performs light industrial manufacturing as an Extrusion Machine Operator in a Thermoplastic hose manufacturing plant. This individual must be hardworking, energetic, with extremely strong ethics and morals. They must have the ability to accomplish all tasks with little or no supervision. The right individual will have a great opportunity to mature and grow with the company.

    Major Functions:

    • Primary responsibility will be to extrude the inner core and outer jacket of thermoplastic hose. This requires the ability to run multiple extrusion lines.
    • High level of Mechanical aptitude.
    • Performs and records quality checks as required.
    • Operates a forklift to obtain and/or store production related materials.
    • Maintains a clean work area, works in a safe manner, and performs other tasks as directed by production management.
    • Ability to read and understand work orders and production running sheets, tape measure, and venire calipers.
    • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, any and all situations that could arise. Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.
    • Wearing the proper and required safety equipment.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: 1 to 2 years’ experience as an Extruder Machine or Plastic Injection Molding operator is preferred, 3-5 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing environment will be considered. Forklift operator’s certification highly desirable.

    • Quality management-the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Planning/organizing-the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
    • Adaptability-the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with a frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
    • Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
    • Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.

    Contact with others: Regular daily routine requires contact with other employees and management.

    Supervision Received: Works under direct daily supervision of supervisors and/or management, receives goals and basic procedures for project assignments. Must handle prioritization with a variety of competing activities. Seeks guidance to assure complete and appropriate action.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, feel objects, twist and turn and hands/wrists to pull greater than 35 pounds of force; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Pay:$20 TO $25 PER HOUR DOE AND SHIFT

    Background Check & Uranalysis Test: If hired, you will be required to undergo a background beck and uranalysis test. Marijuana does NOT affect your possibility of employment.
